Are You Ready to Become a QUDM Training Facilitator?

We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for prospective trainers to help us facilitate 1-day QUDM workshops to paying delegates. These workshops broadly cover the content of the 4th Edition (2016) of the Qld Urban Drainage Manual (QUDM) through either face-to-face, online or hybrid delivery methods.

 

What experience and background do I need?

The ideal candidate has the following attributes:
  • Strong experience in the design/delivery of urban stormwater networks including pipes/culverts/structures, overland flow, flooding analysis, detention/retention, flooding safety, environmental issues, software modelling, planning/compliance/legal aspects, etc.

  • Familiarity with QUDM including its application, use, reference & content.

  • Experience with stormwater hydrology including AR&R, standards, Austroads RDG Part 5, local government regulations, etc.

  • Confident and capable presenter with excellent communication and ability to impart knowledge effectively to stormwater design engineers and other public works professionals.

  • Excellent computer/technology skills needed to develop PowerPoint slides and to be able to deliver training using either face-to-face, online or hybrid delivery methods (including the use of MS Teams).

  • Ideally located in SEQ given most courses are likely to be held in person at our Eagle Farm head office.


Are there some more specific details?
  • Our public courses are held in person at our Eagle Farm head office in Brisbane (because of this ideally you are also located in Brisbane or nearby).

  • There may also be additional private courses that will need to be delivered in Qld (including in regional areas) when requested. These are typically to local councils or consultants who want the course delivered in-house on their premises to their own staff.

  • Any prospective dates will be coordinated initially with yourself to ensure that works for you prior to booking in the date for either a public course or a private client.

  • You will be remunerated for your time which will be negotiated with the successful candidate. You will also be asked to sign a Training Facilitator Agreement which will clearly outline the terms between both parties.

  • We can engage you either through directly (although you will need an ABN) or through your employer.
