Lower Order Road Design Guideline
Wet Conditions

Design for Wet Conditions

Design for wet conditions are applicable per Clause 4.7 of the Lower Order Road Design Guideline (2nd Edition, 2024). Wet conditions should be used for sight distance calculations when the average number of days/year with rainfall occurrence greater than 5mm/day exceeds 40 days.

To help determine whether your project is subject to Wet Condition we have provided this Google map. Please note that the line representing the average of 40 Days per year where >5mm of rain fall per day has been made to best approximate data extracted from Bureau of Meteorology Average annual and monthly days of rain maps. For further information refer to the following BOM link.
