Working Groups and Committees
At IPWEA-QNT, our Working Groups and Steering Committees bring together passionate professionals and subject-matter experts from across Queensland and the Northern Territory to collaborate on practical, high-impact initiatives. From the Standard Drawings and CADD Standards Working Groups to the Survey Standards and Asset Management Steering Committee, each group tackles a vital component of public works ensuring consistent, safe, and efficient practices in roads, drainage, infrastructure design and more. These groups operate as the engine room of our technical work, shaping the guidelines and resources that support the sector every day.
When you contribute to one of our Groups, you not only get to share your expertise, you help refine and evolve the very standards that underpin public works across our region. Participation counts toward your CPD hours and gives you a voice in how infrastructure is designed, built, and managed. Every contribution, whether a comment on a draft drawing or a role in a steering committee, strengthens IPWEA-QNT’s capacity to deliver value to councils, consultants, engineers and communities alike.
These Groups are more than technical working bodies, they form a critical bridge between industry practice and community benefit. Through their efforts, we deliver trusted standards, guidelines and innovations that translate into safer roads, resilient stormwater systems, consistent surveying, and long-term asset sustainability. The impact of this work flows out to every corner of Queensland and the Northern Territory, helping local governments, utilities and contractors deliver better outcomes for the public.
In this section, you will find dedicated pages for each of our Groups along with a list of current members contributing their expertise. These pages provide insight into the important work being undertaken across the sector and the people driving it forward.
