The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (the Board) regulates the profession of engineering in Queensland. The Board traces its history back to 1930, when the then Queensland Government passed the original Professional Engineers Act (the Act). The Act established the Board and provided for the registered professional engineer (RPEQ) system.
Queensland Reconstruction Authority

Between November 2010 and April 2011, Queensland was struck by a series of natural disasters. Extensive flooding caused by periods of extremely heavy rainfall, destruction caused by a number of storm cells including Cyclones Tasha, Anthony and Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi, and subsequent monsoonal flooding resulted in all Queenslander being declared as disaster affected. In response to the disaster events, the Queensland Government established the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) under the Queensland Reconstruction Act 2011. The Authority's mission is to reconnect, rebuild and improve Queensland, its communities and economy.

National Recovery & Resilience Agency

The National Recovery and Resilience Agency was established in response to the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements. Led by the Hon Shane L Stone AC QC, the Agency supports communities impacted by disaster, with a strong on-the-ground presence and a guiding principle of locally-led recovery. We also deliver initiatives to reduce risk and lessen the impacts of future shocks.
